Reproduced in this section are a number of texts and extracts of texts. They are all from public domain sources which often means that the language may sound odd in places to modern ears and the texts from which translations have been made may not be the most up to date. For this reason, I have also included with the texts a link to suggested modern translations.

There are some instances when, for copyright reasons, it is not possible to copy the text and in these cases a link is given to pages which contain the translation. If the links are broken, please let me know!
